A P5 Pupil from Corsehill Primary School, Kilwinning, has been selected as the winner of Cunninghame South MSP, Ruth Maguire’s Christmas Card competition.
The winning design made by Ember Carson was chosen out of dozens of entries sent into the MSP’s office from school pupils throughout the area and will feature on Ms Maguire’s Christmas message to constituents and colleagues. Ember was presented with a £20 gift voucher and won a party pack for the P5 Christmas party
Runners up were Olivia Morrison, also from Corsehill Primary School and Leo Reid, from St Winnings Primary School, who both received a £10 gift voucher. Congratulations to you both.
Local business Optimum Eco Group kindly agreed to sponsor the competition, I am very grateful to Jim Brown and his fantastic team for providing gift cards and individually packed party bags. The business which provides secure, environmentally safe and compliant recycling services to a broad range of business sectors also inspired the theme of a “Green Christmas”.
The SNP MSP said: “This will be my last Christmas as an MSP, it has been a real privilege to get to pick my favourite picture for my Christmas message over the years. I have always been so impressed by the artistic ability of our local children and proud to share their pictures, this year is no different.
“Ember’s excellent submission really captured the essence of a Green Christmas, and stood out with it’s cute and colourful reindeer. It was a real pleasure to visit Corsehill P5s to thank her personally and deliver the party packs”
“Well done again to Ember for your terrific card and thank you to everybody else who entered the competition.”
