Cross-Party Groups (CPGs) provide an opportunity for Members of all parties, outside organisations, and members of the public to meet and discuss a shared interest in a particular cause or subject.

Cross Party Group on Credit Unions
Ruth is the Convenor of the Cross Party Group on Credit Unions. The CPG provides a forum to discuss issues which affect credit unions in Scotland. It also creates a foundation for policy development relating to credit unions, and helps to form a network of good practice between credit unions and parliamentarians. Cross Party Group on Kurdistan
Ruth is the Deputy Convenor of the Cross Party Group on Kurdistan. The CPG promotes and enhances understanding of Kurdistan, Scotland’s Kurdish community and the wider Kurdish diaspora at cultural, social, political, academic and economic levels. Ruth is a member of the Cross Party Group on Children and Young People. The CPG ensures that issues affecting children and young people are recognised and discussed throughout the working of the Scottish Parliament, in order to ensure that the needs and rights of children and young people are met throughout Scotland.
