That the Parliament notes the Ayrshire College social media campaign, #ThisManCares, and its event on 26 May 2016, Men in Care, which encourages men to consider a career in the health and social care sector; believes this is a hugely worthwhile initiative as tackling occupational segregation not only progresses gender equality but is also beneficial to Scotland’s overall social and economic wellbeing; further believes that this will also help ensure that everyone’s skills are being used to their full potential and that the pool of talent available to employers is not inhibited by stereotypical perceptions of what men and women “do”, and encourages men to consider the many varied, rewarding career opportunities that the health and social care sector offers.
