On Thursday 17th November, MSPs held a debate recognising the importance of flexible working practices, particuarly in allowing women to stay active in the economy, and commending groups such as Family Friendly Working Scotland which promote them.
SNP MSP for Cunninghame South, Ruth Maguire, used her speech to highlight how more flexible working practices benefit both staff health and happiness and business productivity.
Speaking, Ruth said:
‘Happier staff who feel valued are more likely to be engaged and on top of their work and, given the opportunity to work flexibly, can make sure that they work at times when they are most productive’
