RUTH’S DOGS TRUST BUDDY FINDS HIS FOREVER HOME

Following Holyrood’s first Dog of the Year competition earlier this month, Ruth Maguire MSP is delighted to announce that Shiloh, the lovable Lhasa Apso that she teamed up with for the competition, has now found his forever home.

At the inaugural event, organised by the Kennel Club and Dogs Trust, MSPs turned out to wow the judges either with their own dog or with a Dogs Trust dog – with the hope of helping the Dogs Trust dog to find its forever home through the publicity of the competition.

This is exactly what has happened for Shiloh, who is now happily settling in with his new family in his forever home.

Commenting on the news, Ruth said:

‘I was delighted to hear that Shiloh has now found his forever home – not least as I was very tempted to take him home myself! He is a very good boy and I know that he will be a wonderful addition to his new family’s home.

Shiloh’s story is an excellent illustration of the success of the first Holyrood Dog of the Year competition. As well as being a lot of fun, it is a great way to promote the importance of responsible dog ownership and animal welfare – and to help the Dogs Trust dogs find their forever homes.

I hugely appreciate the hard work of the Dogs Trust and the Kennel Club both in organising this event, and hope to see it repeated next year and beyond, to help other dogs like Shiloh.”
