On Monday 11th September, local MSP Ruth Maguire will team up with the Dogs Trust to stage a dog welfare community event at Woodwynd Community Centre in Kilwinning (50 David Gage Street, Kilwinning, KA13 7EF) between 11am and 3pm.
All are welcome at the event, where there will be free microchipping, free basic health checks, free information leaflets, and free health and training advice. It is important to note that the law has recently changed meaning that all owners must now have their dogs microchipped.
Commenting, SNP MSP for Cunninghame South, Ruth Maguire, said:
“I am delighted to be co-hosting this event with the Dogs Trust to support my constituents to achieve the highest standards of dog welfare for their pets.
With the recent change in law which means that all owners must have their dogs microchipped, this is an excellent opportunity for people to ensure that their pet is microchipped – at no cost to them whatsoever.
As well as microchipping, dogs will be able to get a free basic health check, and the Dogs Trust team will be on hand to answer questions and give advice about any aspect of health and training.
I would encourage everyone with a dog to take advantage of this free dog welfare day, and hope to meet many constituents – and their dogs! – on the day.”
