Last week, Ruth:
- Hosted the Holyrood celebration of Scottish Financial Capability Week 2017 – bringing organisations together to raise awareness of its importance and celebrate stories of success
- Held MSP advice surgeries at Castlepark Community Centre in Irvine and at the Irvine Office at 14 Eglinton Street
- Asked the Scottish Government whether in Preventing Sexual Offending Involving Children and Younger People, children’s education on this issue needs to go beyond what is and isn’t lawful and include what is healthy, safe and respectful
- Called for better quality personal and social education (PSE) in schools during a debate about the inter-related issues of how schools address bullying and PSE provision
- Spent a day out on the beat with Scottish SSPCA Rescue Officer, Cheryl Lawless, to see the work of the animal welfare charity first-hand
