GSK Star Apprentices Commended at Annual Awards

Ruth Maguire MSP for Cunninghame South was in attendance to present GSK’s annual Apprentice of the Year Award.

The global healthcare company’s site based in Irvine, employs 16 apprentices across four disciplines, including manufacturing and engineering.

Cameron Malcolm, a manufacturing apprentice was awarded first prize, with GSK noting that he ‘always strives to achieve his best, setting himself the highest standards and setting an excellent example to his peers of how apprentices should apply themselves.’

Presenting the awards, Ms Maguire said:

“It was a pleasure to join GSK again this year to celebrate the successes of their apprenticeship programme. Young people on the programme are clearly getting an excellent experience with the company and the standard was high as ever.  I know that the winners and indeed the full team of apprentices will have a very bright future ahead of them.”
