Ruth was honoured to be selected as a Member of the Education, Children and Young People Committee and following the Scottish Parliament Spring Recess, Ruth commenced her duties.
Established in June 2021, the Education Children and Young People committee focuses on:
- schools, colleges and universities
- additional support for learning
- early years and childcare
- Children’s Hearings
- child protection; and
- the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry (external website)
On the 20 April Ruth was welcomed to the committee and was asked to make a formal Declaration of Interests.
Unfortunately, Ruth will no longer be a Member of the Citizen Participation and Public Petitions Committee. Ruth thoroughly enjoyed her time on the committee, including the opportunity to be involved in the scrutiny of a wide variety of public petitions.
