NHS KEY PRIORITY FOR SNP GOVERNMENT
SNP MSP Ruth Maguire has welcomed the Scottish Government’s prioritisation of NHS Ayrshire and Arran for people across Cunninghame South.
Announcing the SNP Government’s Programme for Government for 2022/23, the First Minister outlined that the next year will see the creation in law of the National Care Service which will deliver the consistency and quality of care across Scotland that people deserve.
The programme also included action to improve waiting times – £50 million to help improve Accident and Emergency waiting times, a further £10 million to improve waiting times for cancer diagnostics and treatments, and the establishment of a further two Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Services.
The SNP’s national mission to reduce drug deaths was also a key focus for SNP’s programme, which will be supported by an investment of £250 million as well as a commitment to work with partners with the aim – if, and as soon as, possible – of establishing a Safer Drug Consumption Facility in Glasgow.

“The SNP’s commitment to the NHS in this programme for government recognises the pressure our health service has went through over the past few years and invests in its future – a future with better waiting times, a future that is centred on the voice of patients and a future that has a National Care Service which ensures consistent and quality care that people deserve.
“Good quality healthcare is the cornerstone to a decent society and I’m very glad the SNP will always strive to provide this for people across Cunninghame South.”
