SNP GOVERNMENT OPENS £10 MILLION FUND FOR CHANGING PLACES TOILETS

RUTH MAGUIRE MSP ENCOURAGES ORGANISATIONS IN NORTH AYRSHIRE TO APPLY

Over 25,000 people in Scotland with complex needs and disabilities, and their families, could benefit from a £10 million Scottish Government fund available for making community toilet facilities more accessible.

The Changing Places Toilets Scotland Fund will support the provision of up to 150 specialist accessible toilets to meet the needs of disabled people who require carer support and equipment to use facilities.

SNP MSP for Cunninghame South is encouraging local businesses and non-profit organisations to apply.

Ruth Maguire MSP said:

“Access to toilet facilities is a human right and Changing Places Toilets ensure that those with disabilities and their families and carers can access toilet facilities.

“That’s why this SNP government has made £10 million available for Changing Places Toilets.

“This will make a huge difference to disabled people and their families and carers across North Ayrshire, enabling them to participate fully in society and access community resources.”
