That the Parliament acknowledges with deep sadness the drought in Malawi that has left 6.5 million, nearly 40% of the population, facing severe food insecurity; recognises the long-standing links between Scotland and Malawi; commends the Scottish Government’s pledge to match Scotland Oxfam’s fundraising appeal up to £70, 000; urges all MSPs to support and publicise this appeal, and wishes all the organisations working to assist the people of Malawi every success.
