Last week, along with constituency case work on a number of topics, Ruth:
- Held surgeries in Stevenston and Irvine to listen to and help constituents
- Led a a Holyrood debate marking International Credit Union Day 2016 and the important role played by credit unions in tackling poverty and empowering local communities
- Spoke about her new role as MSP Species Champion for hedgehog in a Holyrood debate celebrating the re-launch of the Species Champion initiative
- Took evidence from a range of people and organisations on the Scottish Government’s Draft Budget 2017-2018 as a member of the Local Government and Communities Committee
- Took evidence from a range of people and organisations about the roll-out of Universal Credit as a member of the Social Security Committee
- Climbed the stairs of Kilwinning Abbey clock tower, as part of a special visit hosted by Christine and Andrew of Kilwinning Heritage, in advance of its 200th anniversary
- Joined with the Kurdish community & supporters in Edinburgh to call on the Turkish regime to release HDP MPs
- Took part in the Remembrance Sunday parade and service in Kilwinning and laid a Scottish Parliament poppy wreath
