That the Parliament recognises that 2016 marks the 200th anniversary of the completion of the clock tower of Kilwinning Abbey; understands that the original 1816 mechanism of the bell tower of the Grade B building remains in good working order; notes that the tower is also home to the Kilwinning Heritage Centre, which attracts hundreds of visitors every year to climb the spiral staircase for a close-up view of both the mechanism and the bells and to enjoy spectacular views of the Ayrshire countryside; encourages everyone to visit the centre and experience this for themselves; commends the work of Kilwinning Heritage in commemorating the anniversary as well as its ongoing work and commitment to promoting and preserving all of the rich heritage of the town, and wishes all the members of Kilwinning Heritage the very best for the future.
