70th Anniversary of Human Rights Day observed in Scottish Parliament
Ruth Maguire SNP MSP for Cunninghame South was at the forefront of a special-one day conference at the Scottish Parliament to mark the 70th anniversary of the United Nations adopting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The conference “Human Rights Take Over” was hosted by the Parliament’s Deputy Presiding Officer, Christine Grahame MSP and featured speeches from Bianca Jagger, president and chief executive of the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation as well as Ruth Maguire who is convener of the Parliament’s Equalities and Human Rights Committee, plus the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon MSP.
