MERCK CELEBRATES 350 YEARS
LOCAL MSP BACKS IMPORTANT LOCAL EMPLOYER
Life sciences company Merck celebrated their 350th anniversary at a Scottish Parliament reception with Ruth Maguire SNP MSP for Cunninghame South and Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Economy and Fair Work Derek Mackay MSP.
Ruth commented: “I was proud and delighted to host this reception particularly since Merck employs more than 200 people at their site in Irvine in my constituency and 420 more across Scotland at sites in Livingston, Glasgow and Stirling.”
Merck is a leading science and technology company in healthcare, life science and performance materials. Founded in 1668, they are the world’s oldest pharmaceuticals and chemicals company.
