On Tuesday Ruth, following a statement from the First Minister Ruth asked about the importance of women and girls knowing that a society that sees many of them facing harassment and sexism in their daily lives can be changed and what everyone can do to ensure that those who perpetrate harassment are stopped.
In her capacity as Convener of the Equalities and Human Rights committee, Ruth met with the Auditor General to explore ways the committee could work with Audit Scotland.
During Portfolio questions, Ruth raised Inclusive Growth and asked the Scottish Government what more could be done encourage to the UK government to move from warm words to action and get the Ayrshire Growth deal signed.
The Scottish Government announced on Wednesday a raft of measures which will strengthen animal welfare in Scotland. Ruth welcomed in particular the option of tougher sentencing for those who abuse animals.
Ruth contributed to the Scottish Government debate recognising the Life Sciences sector in Scotland and used her time to acknowledge the importance of the sector to her Cunninghame South constituency and the opportunities for young people.
